ABOUT THE CEO

Sunnyside Academy is a new entity but Kathy Bracy-Smith successfully owned and ran a daycare over eight years in the chicagoland area with great success but decided it was time to move on to bigger and better things. Sunnyside was birthed after her grandson Kai kept asking “Can we go to your daycare Sunnyside?” So, when the opportunity presented itself to open a new location she knew this was a sign and the time to build a legacy. With a love for all children and 27 year background in finance, she had a vision, to have a school where she could focus on supporting and developing young minds and give children a love of learning through a hands-on based curriculum and project based lessons. Where we believe the sun rises and shines on all children!
